London, 4th July 2018 – Saxo Payments Banking Circle, the global scale financial utility, has been shortlisted for four Payments Association Awards. Finalists were announced at the Payments Association Summer party in London on 3rd July, with Banking Circle listed in the Best Back Office Innovation, Best B2B Payments Programme, and Best International Payments, Remittance or use of FX categories. Banking Circle Virtual IBAN is shortlisted in the Best Banking Initiative category.

The Emerging Payment Awards, now in their 11th year, are the fastest growing awards in the industry and this year attracted 30% more entries from some of the leading players in the emerging payments industry. Winners will be announced on 10th October at a glittering award ceremony at the Hilton London Park Lane Hotel.

Anders la Cour, Co-founder and Chief Executive of Saxo Payments Banking Circle commented, “To be shortlisted in no less than four categories for these prestigious awards, alongside some key industry leaders, is a huge honour. Yet again the hard work of the entire Banking Circle team is being recognised for the innovative solutions we have created to help Financial Tech businesses and Banks provide banking solutions to their customers.”

Banking Circle has moved from being a payments platform to leading the rise of the Financial Utility, handling non-core banking functions on behalf of banks and other Payments businesses such as PSPs and FX Payments businesses. Banking Circle Virtual IBAN enables Financial Institutions to enhance their service proposition, by providing them with access to international business bank accounts. Through Banking Circle, banks and Financial Tech businesses gain a crucial competitive edge, with the ability to issue their customers with multi-currency IBAN accounts in their own name and in multiple jurisdictions.

“2018 has already been a highly successful year for Banking Circle and Banking Circle Virtual IBAN, with five award wins already. The latest nominations recognise the significant impact we are having on the sector, and the important role Banking Circle is playing in the development of Payments Association.”
