The Payments Association is the largest payments community. Founded in the UK in 2008, the association now operates communities in the UK, the EU, and Asia, helping almost 300 companies enhance their commercial interests, address societal problems such as financial exclusion, and evaluate new opportunities for payments innovation.
Our purpose is to empower the most influential community in payments, where the connections, collaboration and learning shape an industry that works for all.
We operate as an independent representative for the industry and its interests, and drive collaboration across the payments sector to bring about meaningful change and innovation. We work closely with industry stakeholders, including the Bank of England, the FCA, HM Treasury, the Payment Systems Regulator, and Pay.UK.
Through our comprehensive programme of member activities and guidance from an independent Advisory Board of leading payments CEOs, we facilitate connections and build bridges that unite the ecosystem and strengthen it.
We run eight stakeholder working groups: Merchant Payments, ESG, Inclusion, Regulatory, Financial Crime, Cross-Border, Digital Currencies and Open Banking. The volunteers within these groups represent the collective view of The Payments Association members at industry-critical moments and work together to drive innovation in these areas.
We also provide market-leading intelligence through our award-winning Payments Intelligence platform, as well as whitepapers, webinars, podcasts, and video interviews.
Our Charity Partner for 2024 is Teenage Cancer Trust. Take a look at what team TPA has been getting up to to support this amazing charity.
