Oliver Hanmer

I joined the PSR in June 2023 as the Head of Supervision and Compliance Monitoring (SCM) and I’m responsible for leading the newly created SCM division. 

Prior to joining the PSR, I was Director of Regulatory Operations at the Bar Standards Board, the independent regulator of the barrister’s profession. During my time at the Bar Standards Board, I led major programmes of regulatory reform including the introduction of a supervision regime for barristers and the opening of the legal services market to new business entities and training providers.
  

I have extensive experience of developing new regulatory functions, new departments, new divisions and introducing regulatory initiatives that safeguard public interest.
