Festival goers will now be able to split the cost of their summer plans and pay for Hideout 2019 tickets thanks to Klarna and Stripe

The partnership will be available to customers from Wednesday 8 May

London, 8 May 2019 — Two of the biggest names in payments — Klarna and Stripe — have today announced their latest partnership offering Klarna’s Pay in 3 for music lovers heading to Hideout Festival this summer through ticketing platform, Kaboodle.

Hideout, the leading annual electronic music festival, is entering its 9th year on the famous Zrce Beach in Croatia, and the option to pay with Klarna will be available for accommodation, flight and coach packages with the possibility to include tickets.

Festival goers can now snap up the elements of their trip once tickets are released in one smooth action, using Klarna to split the cost of the festival into three equal payments. The first of these payments is taken at the point of purchase, either via debit or credit card. The second and third payments are taken automatically on days 30 and 60, with no interest or fees applied, ever.

Klarna and Stripe previously teamed up to transform the app-based shopping experience for fashion stalwart Missguided earlier this year. Building on that success, the combination of Stripe’s technical infrastructure, along with Klarna’s newest payment product made this collaboration smooth and simple.

Hideout Festival chose to introduce alternative payments in order to make the booking process easier and make the event even more accessible to fans. Seamless payments now made more flexible will allow ravers and VIPs alike to secure their spot at Hideout.

Luke Griffiths, General Manager at Klarna UK, commented: “Working with Stripe to bring flexible payments on the Kaboodle platform and to the world famous Hideout Festival has been a real triumph for us. Opening up our experience to a brand new market, where Klarna payments provide an ideal solution for splitting costs, has been a fantastic project. We know we can deliver a 5* purchasing process and taking that into the festival arena shows just how valuable that is for consumers.”

Iain McDougall, UK Country Manager at Stripe, added: “Conversion can make or break ticketing platforms, and technology is key to ensuring customers can check out quickly and easily, no matter their device or location. New payment methods like Klarna’s Pay in 3 are designed to boost conversion and Stripe takes away the complexity of building a checkout experience that is engineered to offer customers the most innovative payment methods available today.”

Tim Holmes, Head of Operations at Kaboodle, says: “As a combined ticketing and travel platform, Kaboodle are constantly looking at innovative ways to make the purchase process as seamless as possible for the festival goer. Enabling Klarna on our platform fits with this goal and we look forward to welcoming more customers to Hideout as a result.”
