For this month’s Insights Interview, we were delighted to connect with an enlightening and inspiring individual responsible for the leadership and management of one of the UK’s largest charities – Chief Executive Officer of Cancer Research UK, Michelle Mitchell OBE.
Michelle’s career began in Parliament before she became an executive on the fast track to leading and transforming several not-for-profit organisations such as the NSPCC, Age UK, and the MS Society. As a result of her strong advocacy and commitment to making a global impact, Michelle was awarded OBE for her services to the charity sector. Her track record also includes extensive non-executive experience, such as NED at NHS England and a Trustee of the Young Women’s Trust and the King’s Fund.
With the cancer survival rate improving in the UK, find out what Michelle and her team have done to overcome the obstacles of the pandemic and what challenges are still existing for them post-Covid. Representing a payments purchaser, she also shares her opinion on the payments industry, her concerns on specific issues such as money laundering, and what she thinks the industry can do to support the charity sector.
