The Payments Association are pleased to announce that the Regulatory Working Group is co-hosting an event with Greenberg Traurig on “Unlocking growth: payments at the frontier of regulatory innovation and enforcement”.

As the payments industry continues to evolve, regulation needs to keep pace with new technologies, business models and payment systems, while supporting innovation, competition and sustainable growth.

The session will bring together senior leaders from the FCA, Barclays, Paysafe and Greenberg Traurig to explore the regulatory developments shaping the future of payments and what they mean for businesses across the sector.

The discussion will cover:

• Scene setting: Where are we now and what are the key regulatory developments currently shaping the payments landscape?
• An agenda for growth: How should regulation and deregulation evolve to support growth through investment and technology? This will include the National Payments Vision, payments infrastructure developments and smart data.
• What’s the future? Exploring the development of digital wallets, Open Banking and new payment systems.
• Reform of the Consumer Duty: Considering the move towards greater self-assessment for businesses and what this could mean for the industry.

The panel will be followed by a Q&A, giving attendees the opportunity to put questions directly to the speakers and explore some of the issues raised during the discussion.
