Roundtable: Review of FCA requirements following the introduction of the Consumer Duty

The Consumer Duty guidelines are intended to set a high standard of care that firms must give to their retail customers with an outcomes-based approach it is meant to allow firms to adapt and innovate in a way that helps consumers and is responsive to technological change and market developments.
However, firms, particularly smaller firms, have longstanding concerns about the length and complexity of the FCA’s Consumer Duty rules and guidance.
The FCA wants to hear from our members as to where and how we can simplify these requirements, through greater reliance on high-level rules, while ensuring they continue to support and protect consumers.
This is a unique opportunity to ensure that your views and concerns can be represented effectively to the FCA.
