Consultation engagement session: Call for Evidence on Unauthorised Fraud in the UK

HM Treasury has launched a Call for Evidence on Unauthorised Fraud in the UK, seeking views on the scale and nature of unauthorised fraud in the UK and the effectiveness of the current measures in place to prevent and tackle it.

The call for evidence is intended to help HM Treasury build a clearer picture of the unauthorised fraud landscape and consider whether further action is needed to strengthen the UK’s approach to tackling fraud.

This is an important opportunity for the payments industry to share practical insight on what is working, where challenges remain and how the UK’s approach to unauthorised fraud could evolve.

This session for members of The Payments Association will provide a collaborative space to share views, test ideas and contribute directly to the drafting of our formal response to HM Treasury’s call for evidence.

This will be a practical, discussion-led workshop rather than a presentation or briefing. We want to hear directly from members about their experiences, challenges and perspectives so that our response reflects the realities of tackling unauthorised fraud across the payments ecosystem.

We would encourage as many members as possible to attend and contribute. The call for evidence covers a broad range of issues affecting payments firms, and member input will help us ensure our response is comprehensive, balanced and representative of the wider membership.
