Ingenico, a global leader in payments acceptance solutions, announces the appointment of Laurent Blanchard as the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), as well as his appointment as the member of the Supervisory Board, and its election to its board of directors, effective 3 April 2023.

Laurent is an experienced global executive with an impressive 25-year track record in the technology sector, particularly in Europe and North America.

Prior to joining Ingenico, Laurent served as the Chief Operating Officer of Cegid, where he successfully led the company’s transformation to a cloud-based software business. Prior to that Laurent held several senior positions at major global companies such as IBM, HP, and Cisco. Throughout his career, Laurent has been an avid advocate for sustainability and technology as a catalyst for business innovation.

Laurent will be based in Paris but will spend meaningful time in our largest markets, working closely with regional teams and customers to accelerate Ingenico’s journey towards a solutions-oriented company. He is well positioned to lead Ingenico’s efforts to accelerate its transformation and take its Android AXIUM range of solutions, its Terminal-as-a-Service (TaaS) leadership, and its innovative cloud-based Payments-Platform-as-a-Service (PPaaS) strategic initiatives to the next level.

“We strongly believe Laurent is the right CEO for the next stage of transformation and growth of Ingenico,” said Catherine Guillouard, Chairwoman and an Independent Supervisory Board Member. “His extensive experience in enterprise management solutions, cloud-based services, and ecosystem enablement make him the ideal candidate to lead our organisation through its transformation to an integrated solutions focused leader in payments. We are confident in his ability to drive growth and deliver exceptional value to our clients and partners. With Laurent at the helm, we are excited to continue innovating and transforming the payment industry, and we look forward to the successes that we will achieve together.”

Gerrard Schmid and Rolf Stangl will step down as co-CEOs and will continue with their roles as members of Ingenico’s Supervisory Board, working closely with Laurent, and other Board directors, to accelerate the momentum and strategic direction of the company.

Gerrard Schmid and Rolf Stangl, Co-CEOs of Ingenico, added: “We are honoured to have had the opportunity to lead Ingenico during this interim period, and we are thrilled to welcome Laurent Blanchard as our new CEO. Laurent’s extensive experience and leadership skills are precisely what we need to drive our transformation. We are confident that his passion for innovation and sustainability, coupled with his global experience, will enable us to create new opportunities for growth and deliver exceptional value to our employees, clients, and partners. We look forward to working alongside Laurent as we continue to transform the payments industry and build a brighter future for all.”

Laurent Blanchard, newly appointed CEO of Ingenico, commented:

“I am deeply honoured to be appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Ingenico. The company has an exceptional team of talented individuals and leading technologies that we can leverage to assist our clients and partners in navigating the rapidly evolving payments industry. We have an extraordinary opportunity to help our clients drive their businesses forward, while taking Ingenico’s business to a whole new level.”
