Currencycloud, the leading global payments platform, has appointed Barbera De Jong to Chief People Officer (CPO), demonstrating the company’s commitment to talent development and its people as it ramps up its global growth strategy.

Barbera will be responsible for Currencycloud’s organisational evolution as it continues to increase its headcount, adding more than 100 staff since 2017 alone, and now over 200 employees across its offices in London, Cardiff, New York, Lviv and Amsterdam.

Barbera joined the company in December 2018 in a non-executive director role but has now taken on the permanent role of Chief People Officer. She brings experience from large-scale technology companies, having worked at Cisco Systems for eight years in various talent management and learning and development roles. She has also held positions at Juniper Networks, Ad Value and Bull Benelux, and worked in the UK, Middle East (Dubai) and the West Coast of the USA.

Fiona Tee, Chief Financial Officer at Currencycloud, said: “This is the first executive-level talent position at Currencycloud, which reflects our absolute commitment to cultivating and hiring the most talented team possible as we grow.”

“The business is truly entering a new phase in its development as we strive to provide a seamless, international service to some of the most interesting and influential brands in payments, banking and commerce on a global scale. This is an extremely exciting time for everyone involved at Currencycloud.”

The appointment is part of the wider strengthening of the company’s HR function to support its growth. Julie Webbe, Interim HR Director in the UK office, has moved into a permanent role as Director of Change, working alongside Sadie Elford, HR Director, to deliver major talent change projects across the business.

Tip: Check your spam

Sometimes our e-mails end up in spam. Make sure to check your spam folder for e-mails from The Payments Association

Tip: Check “other” tabs

Most modern e-mail clients now separate e-mails into different tabs. For example, Outlook has an “Other” tab, and Gmail has tabs for different types of e-mails, such as promotional.

Tip: Click the link within 60 minutes

For security reasons the link will expire after 60 minutes. Try submitting the login form again and wait a few seconds for the e-mail to arrive.

Tip: Only click once

The link will only work one time – once it’s been clicked, the link won’t log you in again. Instead, you’ll need to go back to the login screen and generate a new link.

Tip: Delete old login e-mails

Make sure you’re clicking the link on the most recent e-mail that’s been sent to you. We recommend deleting the e-mail once you’ve clicked the link.

Tip: Check your security policies

Some security systems will automatically click on links in e-mails to check for phishing, malware, viruses and other malicious threats. If these have been clicked, it won’t work when you try to click on the link.
