Project International Trade project offers members of The Payments Association with the passion and enthusiasm to play a significant role in how we support The Payments Association community on a global stage so as to gain new opportunities in new markets and verticals. We have just completed a Virtual Trade Mission within Asia covering Singapore, Hong Kong and Sydney where we worked with business partners, government bodies, trade associations and fintech operators in region to promote and educate the driving change and opportunity in the region through a range of mediums. The project will continue to look at innovation and change on a global stage so that The Payments Association community are provided the best opportunity to stay ahead of the curve.

Mission Statement:

1) To develop a trade mission programme beyond APAC, helping members of The Payments Association enter other markets 

2)To encourage trade between organisations that use payments outside the EU and members of The Payments Association

3)To promote awareness of The Payments Association as the global hub for payments in the Post-Brexit era


Strategy and Approach 2021:

Project lead Kevin McAdam, sponsors GPS and Projects Manager Tom Brewin have worked hard to craft an exciting plan for 2021 in what is a crucial time for International Trade within the payments sphere. Read the new Terms of Reference for Project International Trade

  • Deliver Virtual Fintech Asia Trade Mission to SG/HK/AUS

o   Include Regional Partners and Payments Association member delegates

o   Provide on-going marketing support to delegates and other key stakeholders during the 2020 virtual trade mission

o   Hold 2021 trade mission de-briefing event for delegates hosted by sponsor GPS

  • Strive to develop a wider trade mission programme:

o   Hold a physical trade mission to APAC if restrictions allow

  • Continue to support access to The Payments Association Asia’s membership network
  • Engage with governmental bodies, regulators, associations and schemes to support the growth and trade of UK payments and FinTech/PayTech organisations globally
