DESCRIPTION:Event overview\n\nDate: Monday 28th September\nTime: 11:00 – 12:00 BST\nLocation: Online (joining details will be shared with registered attendees)\n\nHM Treasury has launched a Call for Evidence on Unauthorised Fraud in the UK\, seeking views on the scale and nature of unauthorised fraud in the UK and the effectiveness of the current measures in place to prevent and tackle it.\nThe call for evidence is intended to help HM Treasury build a clearer picture of the unauthorised fraud landscape and consider whether further action is needed to strengthen the UK’s approach to tackling fraud.\nThe call for evidence covers:\n\nThe current scale and nature of unauthorised fraud in the UK.\nThe different types of unauthorised fraud and how they are evolving.\nThe effectiveness of existing measures to prevent\, detect and disrupt unauthorised fraud.\nThe roles and responsibilities of different organisations across the payments and wider financial services ecosystem.\nThe challenges faced by firms in tackling fraud and opportunities to improve collaboration and information sharing.\nPotential gaps in the current framework and areas where further action could help reduce fraud.\n\nThis is an important opportunity for the payments industry to share practical insight on what is working\, where challenges remain and how the UK’s approach to unauthorised fraud could evolve.\n\nWhy attend\nThis session for members of The Payments Association will provide a collaborative space to share views\, test ideas and contribute directly to the drafting of our formal response to HM Treasury’s call for evidence.\nThis will be a practical\, discussion-led workshop rather than a presentation or briefing.
